Universidad Siglo 21 is Argentina's largest private distance education institution by enrollment. Its academic model is entirely online: students take midterm exams, finals and comprehensive assessments from their own devices, from anywhere in the country. That feature — which defines the value of the educational proposition — also defines the magnitude of the supervision challenge.
When exams are online and students number in the tens of thousands concurrently, direct human supervision is not a realistic option.
