The challenges of digital transformation in education in the post-COVID-19 era

In the context of a Klarway webinar, María Belén Mendé, rector of Universidad Siglo 21, and members of the institution reflected on digital transformation in educational institutions in a context where virtuality deepened further with the health crisis.

One year after the beginning of the pandemic, executives from Universidad Siglo 21 (Argentina) shared their experience on technology-mediated education and digital transformation in a webinar organised by Klarway.

Lessons from the pandemic

The health emergency forced institutions to adopt virtuality in an accelerated manner. According to the leaders of Universidad Siglo 21, this brought both opportunities and challenges:

For institutions that managed to adapt, digital transformation became a competitive advantage: greater geographical reach, more flexible hybrid models and tools that allow more precise monitoring of student performance.

The role of assessment in the new context

One of the central axes of the debate was assessment. In a virtual environment, guaranteeing academic integrity requires new tools and strategies that did not exist or were not developed before the pandemic.

Proctoring and remote supervision solutions became concrete responses to this challenge, enabling institutions to maintain the quality and credibility of their assessment processes regardless of the modality.
